Connect Slack
Receive Buddy proposals, AR digests, and standup messages in Slack channels and DMs.
Slack is internal-only today. Customer-facing channels (DMs to homeowners) are quarantined.
What this integration does
- Posts Cash's AR digest to a channel
- Posts Sam's daily standup to a channel
- DM Buddy proposals to the assigned PM
- Slash commands:
/sunrai project [name]to fetch a project status - Records messages from channels where the app is present in the internal SunrAI inbox, attributed to a SunrAI user and project when those mappings exist; otherwise it preserves Slack identity/channel context without guessing
Steps
Open Integrations → Slack
Settings → Integrations → Slack.
Click Add to Slack
Pick the intended workspace and approve the requested scopes. OAuth connects the workspace; it does not select a destination channel or invite the app to one.
Invite SunrAI and choose channels
In Slack, invite @SunrAI to each public or private channel it should use. Return to Settings → Integrations → Slack, refresh the page, choose a Default channel, and optionally choose separate Daily Summary and Storm Digest channels. Send a test message before relying on notifications.
Map your SunrAI users to Slack users
SunrAI matches by email by default. Mismatches show up as "unmapped" in Settings → Integrations → Slack → Users.
Reconnect after an integration upgrade
If an admin has already installed SunrAI, use Reconnect after new scopes or event subscriptions are announced. Slack grants new scopes only through a fresh OAuth consent.
What channels SunrAI uses
No shared destination channel is selected automatically. Until an admin chooses a Default channel, channel notifications are not posted. Daily Summary and Storm Digest can use that default or their own selected channel.
Personal Buddy proposals may use direct messages after the user mapping is complete. You can change channel settings in Settings → Integrations → Slack.
