Notification preferences

Choose in-app, email, and browser-push delivery for each event type in the current team.

Updated2 min readaccount

Notification preferences belong to both your user and the current team. Configure them separately for each team you use.

The page shows only notification events with a complete product trigger, authorized recipient rule, destination, and delivery contract. Historical, dummy, and out-of-scope choices do not appear. task.overdue and incentive.follow_up_due remain hidden while their occurrence contracts are incomplete.

Available channels

  • In-app — shows supported events in the team's notification feed. A new supported row defaults to on.
  • Email — defaults to off. It becomes selectable only when tracked email delivery is configured, the team allows it, and your linked sign-ins resolve to exactly one verified primary email.
  • Push — defaults to off. It becomes selectable only when server push is configured and the current browser supports push, has permission, and has an active subscription.

Each channel is evaluated independently. Turning off or muting in-app delivery does not turn off an opted-in email or push channel, and a duplicate or failure in one channel does not suppress another.

The current preference screen does not offer per-event Slack toggles, quiet-hour scheduling, or weekly-digest controls.

Change preferences

  1. Open notification settings

In the dashboard, open Settings → Notifications for the current team. You can also open the notification feed from the bell and click Notification settings.

  2. Enable browser push if wanted

If your browser supports push, click Enable Push and approve the browser permission prompt. A blocked browser permission must be changed in the browser's site settings.

  3. Choose channels by event

Review the supported event groups and select In-app, Email, or Push for the events you want. An unavailable channel is disabled and the page explains what is missing.

  4. Save

Click Save. The screen does not save channel changes automatically.

Verify it worked

  • Reopen Settings → Notifications and confirm the saved checkboxes.
  • The bell opens the current team's notification feed.
  • Push works only in browsers where permission and a push subscription are active.

Troubleshooting

"Email is unavailable" — Ask an Owner or Admin to confirm tracked email delivery and team email fan-out are configured. Also confirm your linked sign-ins resolve to one verified primary email.

"Push is unavailable" — Check the browser's notification permission and active subscription for SunrAI. Push setup is browser-specific and also requires server configuration.

"I changed one team but another team looks different" — This is expected. Preferences are stored per user and per team.
