Two-factor authentication

Add a TOTP authenticator app as a second factor.

Updated1 min readaccount

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an authenticator-app code to your sign-in. The available controls are provided by SunrAI's account menu.

What you'll learn

  • How to enroll a TOTP app (Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator)
  • How to save recovery codes
  • How to confirm that enrollment worked

Steps

  1. Open your account settings

Click your avatar and open the account or security settings shown in the menu. If no 2FA option appears, contact support@sunrai.ai instead of changing another team setting.

  2. Start two-factor setup

Choose the two-factor or authenticator-app option. Scan the QR code in your authenticator app, then enter the current verification code when prompted.

  3. Save your recovery codes

Save every recovery code displayed during setup in a password manager. Each recovery code is for account recovery if you lose access to the authenticator.

  4. Verify the sign-in flow

Sign out, sign back in, and confirm that SunrAI asks for the current authenticator code.

If you lose your authenticator

  • Use a saved recovery code if the sign-in screen offers that option.
  • After regaining access, return to the account security settings and replace the lost authenticator if those controls are available.
  • If you cannot regain access, contact support@sunrai.ai. Never send a password, authenticator code, or recovery code by email.

The account controls are powered by Stack Auth. Its two-factor authentication guide explains the underlying authenticator and recovery-code flow.
